Based Russian Forces Shelling Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant, Trying to Make Reactors Melt Down

The news of the day is that the evil Russians have attacked a nuclear power plant and are shelling the reactors in an attempt to get them to melt down.

This, as you might have guessed, is not true.

There is a firefight outside of a nuclear power plant in the Ukraine – the biggest in Europe, in fact – but it’s in the parking lot. Images being shown of “the nuclear power plant on fire” are actually images of an administrative office building near the parking lot.

There was a live feed from the battle, showing a building on fire and being shelled.

However, as Russian Telegram has pointed out, the camera feed is facing away from the actual power plant.

But yeah – a firefight involving tanks and mortar rounds taking place at best a few hundred rounds from a nuclear power plant is pretty relevant news.

However, even when Sean Hannity claimed that the Russians were shelling the power plant to try to make it blow up, his experts came on and said that the buildings on fire had windows, meaning that they were not the actual power plant, and that even if the power plant was shelled directly, it would be very unlikely to go into meltdown, due to a number of reasons, including a list of internationally-inspected failsafes.

The plant provides much of the power to the entire country of the Ukraine, so it is a very obvious strategic target. Though you would think they would have cleared out more of the Ukrainian troops before trying to take the plant. It’s in a city that is already nearly absorbed by Russian forces.

Here’s what the Russians said a few minutes ago.

RT:

A fire has broken out on Friday morning at the six-reactor Zaporozhskaya NPP, which local Ukrainian authorities have blamed on shelling by Russian troops. Moscow had informed the international nuclear authorities on Tuesday that Russian forces had secured the territory around the plant and it was operating normally.

The plant is “on fire,” Energodar mayor Dmitry Orlov claimed on his Telegram channel, blaming “continuous enemy shelling of buildings and units of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.” He did not give details as to which buildings might be on fire or whether there was any danger to the reactors.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service later issued an update stating that the blaze had actually erupted in a “training building” adjacent to the nuclear site, not the facility’s reactor buildings. While it noted firefighters were initially unable to respond due to the fighting, they were ultimately able to contain the blaze.

The UN’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), meanwhile, said that no “essential equipment” had been damaged at the plant, adding that there has been “no change reported in radiation levels,” citing Ukrainian officials.

They don’t mention the reports that the Russians tried to send in fire crews and the Ukrainians fired on them so they left.

Sean Hannity and the rest of the neocons (which is the entire media and political establishment at this point) claiming that the Russians were purposefully trying to make the reactors melt down is probably the craziest piece of atrocity propaganda I’ve heard yet.

This is so reminiscent of the Iraq War, and every other war since – when these people try to explain why their enemies would do something completely irrational and nonsensical, they claim that the enemy is simply insane. No one ever really bothers to point out that insanity does not ever overlap with competence, and that it would be impossible for any insane person to run a country. Running a country is actually complicated, and simply is not compatible with insanity.

I remember saying as a teenager in 2003 to boomers who supported the Iraq War: “If Saddam bombed America, his entire country would be leveled by US bombs in a matter of minutes, so why would he want his own country completely destroyed just to hurt Americans?”

Their eyes would sort of gloss over and then they’d say “because he’s insane.”

It’s just all so dumb.

Anyway, this isn’t really even an important news story, it’s just a hysterical news story. Russia will not blow up any reactors. Who knows why they decided to move on the power plant before the city was cleared of Ukrainian forces. If I had to guess, the city had been mostly cleared and the remaining Ukrainian troops took up positions at the power plant for the express purpose of creating this bizarre atrocity hoax.

A nuclear reactor shield is even better than human shields.

BDSM Jew neo-Nazi Zelensky actually referred to this as “nuclear terrorism.”

Hannity also said Thursday night that Russians were planning to do public executions.

I wonder if they will do crucifixions?

Tiresome.
