Bill Maher Says the Afghan Pullout was a Disaster

Bill Maher, who is Jewish (half), is apparently trying to stake some kind of new ground as a post-Trump right-wing figure.

He recently attacked the vaccine scam, and now he’s condemning the Afghanistan pullout.

Breitbart:

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that arguments about the deal former President Donald Trump cut with the Taliban are irrelevant because “We have a new administration” and the Taliban was never going to follow any deal. Maher further argued that Biden’s execution of the withdrawal “was done horribly.”

After Faith and Freedom Coalition Chairman Ralph Reed defended the deal Trump cut with the Taliban, Maher stated, “It’s a bullshit argument about the deal. Who gives a f*ck about the deal? The deal was no deal. … We have a new administration. The old administration was a crazy man, and he made a deal with people who were never going to abide by any deal. They’re the Taliban. They’re laughing at a deal. So, Joe Biden…I said it last week, I don’t know how it could have gone worse under Trump. Why did we pull out the security guard before we got the people out of the disco? It was done horribly. It depresses me a lot, like I said, that the adults take over and then they can’t do better than what the children were doing. So, execution, F, absolutely.”

Of course, many leftists are condemning the pullout, as we’ve covered here.

But most of them are saying that we should have remained in the country forever.

The “we needed to leave but we did it wrong” narrative is Tucker Carlson’s narrative.

My personal narrative is that this is all hilarious and I don’t really care, I’m just happy to see the US government fail.

Maher has always been a leftist, but has also made a point of disagreeing with leftists on specific issues, so I guess this is his time to shine. His clips are getting spammed everywhere by right-wingers right now.

My position is that I also don’t care about Bill Maher, but it’s interesting to look at what he’s saying – and who’s agreeing with what he’s saying – in order to figure out where the people of the country are.

I think this entire mess in Afghanistan has caused serious trauma to the brains of both the left and right, as both these sides’ narratives have been shattered.
