Kanye Drops 30-Minute Art Film Documentary on YouTube

Following all those things that just happened, Kanye West on Monday dropped a 30-minute art film slash documentary on his YouTube channel (where he is not yet banned at time of writing).

I think the film is visually cool, but I don’t really understand what it means. Titled “LAST WEEK,” it starts out with a very cool art segment of an IRL video game (you’d have to watch it to understand), and then goes through several things Kanye did in the past week since coming back from Paris.

The most notable scene features him bitching out Adidas executives. He shows one of them a porno on his phone, and tells him “he’s like you.”

He calls himself the King of Culture (based).

Then he starts talking about how he’s going to do a war (based).

He finally tells them he’s richer than them and he doesn’t need any deals, and walks out of the meeting (also based).

One thing I was able to take away is that he’s apparently fine with breaking off the deal with Adidas, even though it’s being said that is going to cost him over $1 billion. He appears to have some plan to make his clothes himself, without a partner (he recently also ended his relationship with GAP).

Other than that specific point, I was not really able to draw much from the film, and I would really prefer if he’d just give me a call and tell me what it is he’s trying to communicate.

Whatever the case: Kanye is the most important thing happening in the world right now, so I’m just keeping the reader updated on what we’ve got.

Watching this art film, you could get the impression that Kanye is what they are saying he is: an eccentric who maybe doesn’t mean everything he says. Frankly, I can even see how someone would watch this sort of thing and come to the conclusion he is “insane.”

However, you get a very different impression from watching his two-part interview with Tucker Carlson from last week. That shows that he’s very much on the ball.

Maybe someone else can figure out the meaning of the art film. It seems like it should mean something, given when he posted it, but it might be that this was just meant to set a mood for what he is doing (it does a good job with mood), and maybe he was planning on doing more on social media this week but they shut him down.

He was a bit sleepy and couldn’t go death con 3 on Jewish people. By the time he’d rested up, he was banned.

We can do nothing but watch the plan unfold.
