Russia Says They’re Not Even Planning an Influence Operation to Break Apart the West

I’ve been saying since, uh, 2010ish that Russia should be doing influence operations in the West to try to break down the society.

Yet, despite my position as probably the single most prominent American shill for Russia, and someone definitely in a position to know, I can tell you: there is zero evidence that anything like this was ever tried.

I mean, they did that entire two-year Mueller investigation, and at the end claimed that they thought someone from a Russian IP posted memes on Facebook.

It actually pains me to admit it, but I completely believe Russia that the WaPo just invented this story out of thin air, just like they did with that Trump-Russia bullshit.

RT:

The Washington Post says it has obtained secret Russian documents detailing a plan to bring anti-establishment political parties together in Germany in an effort to sow discord in the West. The Kremlin has responded that it does not interfere in the domestic affairs of other nations.

The purported Russian documents, largely dated from July to November last year, were obtained by an unidentified European intelligence service, the US news outlet said on Friday. It did not explain how it gained access, but it also interviewed some German politicians for the story.

They probably bought it off Christopher Steele.

That’s really only half a joke. I wouldn’t even be remotely surprised if that turned out to be the case.

The article said Moscow’s plan was “part of a hidden front in Russia’s war against Ukraine” and an attempt “to undermine Western unity.” The Soviet Union harnessed anti-war sentiment in the same way, an anonymous German security official told the Post.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the alleged Russian plan “100% fake.” He told the Post: “We never interfered before and now we really don’t have time for this.”

My argument would be that they should make time, and there is zero reason to not do it since they are being accused of it anyway.

There is a saying I don’t totally remember about “if you’re going to do the time, you might as well do the crime.”

The American media and intelligence establishment could not possibly be more aggressive in making these accusations. If it was actually happening, there is nothing they could do differently than they are doing right now.

How is this not obvious?

I feel like Russia is too boomer, and if anyone was going to understand this it would be Medvedev.

The strategy, as described in the article, involves “marrying” Germany’s far-left Die Linke with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. Sahra Wagenknecht, an MP from Die Linke, would have a chance of winning the chancellorship with such backing, the plan suggests.

The Post claimed that the effort was led by Sergey Kirienko, the deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, along with unnamed “political strategists” tasked with executing it. The documents do not show any attempts by the Russian government to communicate the strategy to German politicians or potential allies, the report said.

Well, if there was a Russian plan, it would not be that stupid.

I am confident that even though they’ve thus far refused to do a plan, if they did one, it would be a good one.

(For those that don’t know, Germany has laws that people who aren’t approved by the US government are not allowed to hold the chancellorship. They are real laws, established post-war as part of “de-Nazification.”)

Obviously, the West does nothing but influence operations everywhere all the time. They don’t really even care if they’re effective at doing anything other than creating chaos, because it costs them nothing and they can never be punished. I guess I understand Russia wanting to play the white man on the global scene, but everyone with any common sense recognizes that the West is ultra-satanic and that any action against it is justified. Trying to help people who are already opposed to the ruling system is basic common sense.

And yet, Russia never even went so far as to lend a hand to banned political dissidents in America by offering them hosting. I was banned from several different Russian services, despite being an absolute sycophant who has called for Russian and Chinese peacekeepers to be deployed in every American city.

I don’t understand the thinking.

This is certainly not how the KGB did things.

It is what it is, I guess, but I will continue to call for Russia to actively start doing all these things they are being accused of.

P.S.

Here’s a Twitter thread about the Ukraine problem.
