Sacrificing Freedom for Democracy: Zelensky Signs Law Allowing Seizure of Property from Opposition

Susan Collins, 5’3″, is wearing flat-soled shoes, and she still appears to be taller than Zelensky in his height-boosting running shoes. Wait, why is he wearing running shoes at a meeting with foreign leaders? What even is this? $40 billion a month and this nigga can’t afford a suit?

The US is fighting a war for democracy in the Ukraine.

And by “democracy,” we mean the right of the Jews who run the country after having been installed by the US State Department in a violent coup to not only ban all political opposition, but also seize their property.

Ukrinform:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed law No. 7172-1 on the introduction of amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding a ban on the activity of political parties.

That’s according to the website of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrinform reports.

The legislation expands the list of grounds for banning a political party through the courts. Relevant grounds are justifying, recognizing as lawful or denying armed aggression against Ukraine, including by presenting armed aggression of the Russian Federation and/or the Republic of Belarus against Ukraine as an internal conflict, civil conflict, or civil war.

It is expected that if a party is banned by the court, its property, funds and other assets become the property of the state.

The law enters into force on the day following the day of its publication.

It would be really hard to argue that the Ukraine is not a significantly more repressive country than Russia. I would go so far as to say it is even more repressive than the United States at this point.

So this word – “democracy” – what exactly does it even mean? Everyone thought it meant voting, but the US is “fighting for democracy” in a country that has banned all opposition parties. So you can vote, I guess, but you can only vote for the party that is already in power.

It is very clear at this point that “democracy” has much less freedom than any other modern system of government. It hasn’t gotten quite as bad as say, mid-20th century communism, but it is certainly going in that direction. And it’s really pretty close. It’s definitely much worse than the USSR was in the 70s and 80s, by virtually every metric.

So, who supports this?

If you did some actual polling, I would think that most people on Planet Earth would prefer freedom to democracy. Democracy is mostly about feminism and gay sex, so I guess some women and homosexuals would prefer democracy.

What is so frustrating is that some of these disgusting people will try to equate freedom with democracy.

You clearly can’t have both.

At least Zelensky has the dignity to say that he is only promoting democracy, and doesn’t make any claims about freedom.

He would look absurd if he was claiming to believe in freedom while banning all opposition media, banning all opposition parties, and seizing the property of anyone who disagrees with him.

The only people who are able to keep from laughing when it is suggested there is a connection between democracy and freedom are Americans and possibly the British.
