Trevor Noah is nearing his last laugh on “The Daily Show.”
The comedian, who came out of near anonymity to take over the program from Jon Stewart in 2015, plans to exit the flagship Comedy Central series after a seven-year tenure that saw him transform it for a new generation of viewers who are more at home on social media than they are cable outlets and broadcast networks.
Yeah, actually, people will watch cable broadcasts if they don’t suck.
Tucker still kills 24-54 live, along with having millions of views on YouTube.
The key is to not suck.
Trevor Noah can’t claim “oh I can’t win because young people are online” when his videos on his YouTube channel can’t crack 100,000 views unless he’s announcing his retirement.
Every Tucker video gets millions of views – even though Fox won’t give him his own channel, and uses his shows to bolster their flailing YouTube channel.
If people were allowed to sub to a Tucker-only YouTube channel, Tucker would be getting 3-4 times the views.
Young people are going to watch stuff. They just aren’t interested in watching leftist political propaganda. If they are going to watch political material, it will be rightist material. If they are leftists, they just have the default worldview, so they don’t need to watch political content – they already just agree with whatever the government and media says, so they don’t need to learn anything. They can just say “yeah, I just agree with everything the government/media says.”
There are a few leftists who disagree with the media, but Trevor Noah is just a regime apologist. He just says whatever CNN/NYT says, and he’s not funny at all. He’s quite possibly the least funny person I’ve ever run across.
For the record, the show’s previous host, Jon “Stewart” Leibowitz, named this guy as his successor because he sucks so bad there was zero chance he was going to overshadow Leibowitz. No one could complain about this choice because of racism.
