55-Year-Old Black Female Arrested for Christmas Eve Murder

Connie Louise Highsmith has been arrested for murder.

A woman has been charged with murder following a deadly Christmas Eve stabbing in Galivants Ferry, according to Lieutenant Robert Kegler with the Horry County Police Department.

The Horry County Police Department’s Facebook page confirmed 55-year-old Connie Louise Highsmith has been charged with murder. She has been booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

According to Sgt. Strickland with Horry County Police someone called 911 around 3:01 p.m. Tuesday to report a stabbing in a home on Methodist Rehobeth Road.

When officers arrived at the home they found a man deceased, Sgt. Strickland said.

The man’s death was the result of a domestic dispute and a woman, who was inside the home, is in custody for questioning according to Lt. Robert Kegler with Horry County Police.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick said the deceased man was 52 years old and from Galivants Ferry.

Hendrick said an autopsy to determine cause of death will be performed on Thursday and the man’s name will not be released until then.
