A man responsible for leaving a 61-year-old woman beaten and robbed in the Towne Mall has been arrested, according to the Elizabethtown Police Department.
Elizabethtown Police arrested 40-year-old Travis Jeter of Radcliff, Kentucky, on Saturday morning.
Jeter is accused of targeting Joyce Perry, a 61-year-old grandmother, in the Towne Mall parking lot, punched her several times in the face and demanded money and her keys.
Jeter was charged with robbery, assault and possession of controlled substance.
During the struggle, Perry was able to hit the horn a few times, sending the man running off with her purse.
Payne suffered a broken nose, a broken left eye socket, one side of her face was heavily bruised and family says she will need surgery.
Jeter is being held at the Hardin County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
The investigation is still continuing.
