Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a shoe repair shop in Westmoreland County.
According to police, 16-year-old Nasir Howard and 18-year-old Carlito Spence were charged with robbery and conspiracy Monday night.
The incident happened at Gene’s Shoe Service on Fifth Avenue on June 26.
Police say the suspects robbed the business at gunpoint and hit store owner, 82-year-old Gene Montemurro, in the back of the head.
The two suspects took money out of Montemurro’s pocket, as well as cash from the register.
Last week, several hundred people gathered outside of the shop to show their support for Montemurro.
