Andrake Morris was a teenager when he began sexually assaulting and robbing women in what prosecutors call a reign of terror.
Now, at 20-years-old, Morris will spend 23 years to life in prison.
He pleaded guilty in September to eight counts — including attempted rape, indecent liberties, theft, robbery, burglary, assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Kelli, one of Morris’ victims, spoke to KIRO 7 after he beat and tried to rape her at the Tender Heart Daycare in Tacoma, in March of 2013.
After that incident, she agreed to talk — encouraging other victims to come forward.
Several women did, and that led to even more charges against Morris.
Kelli, who asked that KIRO 7 only use her first name, said she was glad speaking out had an impact.
”Coming to you and talking to you and having more women come out and say, ‘Hey, [Morris] did this or that to me, [I knew] that he was going to ultimately get justice. We would all get justice,” Kelli said after Morris was sentenced.
Kelli broke down crying when she was told she could have the wedding ring he stole nearly two years ago back, now that it no longer needed to be held as evidence.
“That’s what I started crying over. I’m very excited to have it back,” said Kelli.
