I predicted thith. I predicted thith.

BBC:

The leaders of Russia and Israel have sought to defuse tension after a Russian plane was shot down by Syrian forces amid an Israeli air raid.

In a call to Vladimir Putin, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu expressed regret at the loss of 15 Russian personnel, but stressed again that Syria was to blame.

Mr Putin had earlier called the incident “a chain of tragic accidental circumstances“.

The Il-20 plane was downed over the Mediterranean Sea on Monday evening.

I think it’s exactly what I said this morning: some military man made a decision to do this, it wasn’t Bibi ordering a war with Russia. Bibi is apologizing.

Probably not gonna get WWIII.

But I think it certainly does up tensions between the two states, and puts Israel in a generally weaker position on negotiating how Syria should be handled.

And Netanyahu is ready to make any deal. He’s entered into a very uncomfortable position in a whole bunch of different ways, with pressure coming from everywhere.

This is to say: this accidental downing of a Russian jet by the Jews may speed up the closure of this endless war.
