If Doctor Jill came to me and was like “we need to inject your infant with an experimental genetic treatment that will change his DNA,” I would be like “sure, Dr. Jill – you are an amazing doctor and I really trust your judgement.”
In fact, actually, that is exactly what she is saying to us – “as your doctor, I demand you genetically modify your children to stop old people from dying of the flu.”

I really think that these people have my best interests in mind. They remind me of grandparents. Not my own grandparents, but someone else’s grandparents who are trying to touch me.
