Mark Zuckerberg is an open borders advocate living in a bunker and protected by a personal army, and also a billionaire saying billionaires shouldn’t be billionaires.
Very progressive.
Mark Zuckerberg, who has a net worth of $66.6 billion and the fifth richest person in the world, says billionaires don’t deserve to have that much money.
The Facebook CEO made the comments during a Q&A Facebook livestream with employees on Thursday.
His take on billionaires came after he was asked to respond to recent comments made by Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders that so much wealth for one person shouldn’t exist.
Zuckerberg, who is the fifth richest person in the world, said he agreed with Sanders.
‘I understand where he’s coming from,’ he said.
‘I don’t know that I have an exact threshold on what amount of money someone should have but on some level no one deserves to have that much money.’
If he really thinks that, he should either stop trying to profit from spying on people and selling their personal information or start investing his money in things that are good for society as a whole, such as border walls like the ones he has in his home.
He’s the fifth richest man in the world and thinks billionaires shouldn’t have that much money yet he’s still playing the game and increasing his fortune even further.
Something doesn’t add up.
Sanders announced last month a plan to tax the nation’s wealthiest households, saying it will generate more than $4 trillion over the next decade and substantially reduce billionaires’ fortunes.
The plan unveiled by Sanders seeks a 1 percent levy on households worth more than $32 million and proposes tax rates that would increase for wealthier people, up to 8 percent for $10 billion-plus fortunes.
‘We are going to take on the billionaire class, substantially reduce wealth inequality in America and stop our democracy from turning into a corrupt oligarchy,’ Sanders said at the time.
Sanders has also previously vowed to clamp down on media mergers and toughen enforcement of antitrust laws against tech giants like Facebook and Google.
It would be nice if instead of this “take from the wealthy and give to the poor” approach to wealth inequality, politicians would start talking about using taxpayers’ money to invest in an army of robot slave-workers that will generate even more wealth for Americans.
Just as companies invest and generate wealth, the American people could use their tax money to invest in things that will generate wealth for America.
Instead of wasting so many billions on the military and who knows what else, we could be investing in making life better for everyone.
It used to be that normal people couldn’t afford to invest and acquire the means of production, but Americans don’t even need banks anymore in order to get funds to invest.
People have to wake up and realize that taxes could and should be treated as investment funds.
