The man wanted for murder after a weekend shooting has been arrested.  33-year-old Shearon Lamar Bennett was taken into custody Monday night.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests Monday afternoon in connection with the shooting early Sunday morning at the Moonshine Saloon on Myer’s Rd. that resulted in the death of a 32-year-old woman.

Darrell Bennett and April Cartin both of Cross, S.C. are being held in the Hill-Finklea Detention Center on $75,000.00 bond each, charged with obstructing justice.

According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, 32-year-old April Infinger was hit in the back by a bullet at Moonshine Saloon in Goose Creek around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Infinger was transported to a local hospital where she later died.

Scott Bates said he was shocked when he received a text message saying his friend had been killed. He runs the Lowcountry chapter of the American Poolplayers Association.

Infinger had been part of the group since 2004, playing pool at the Moonshine Saloon Wednesday and Thursday nights.

“She’s always seemed to love pool,” Bates said. “Her husband plays pool. It’s kind of like a family thing for her to do.”

Bates said Infinger was out enjoying a birthday party for a friend when a fight broke out.

“Some people around her got into some argument, and she happened to be punished for other people’s mistakes,” Bates said.

Bates said his entire pool association is mourning the loss of a friend and teammate who was known for her fiery, friendly personality.

“I never heard anyone say anything bad about her,” Bates said. “She’s one of those people who’s a little feisty. She really enjoyed [the game of pool]. It was just fun for her.”

Bennett will face a bond court judge Tuesday at 7 p.m.
