A Jacksonville man was convicted Thursday in a case that started as harassment in September 2011 and turned into a sexual assault against a 60-year-old victim.
Gabriel Wright, 51, forced his way into the victim’s home after an injunction for protection was issued, and when the she tried to escape he forced her to have sex with him, the State Attorney’s Office said.
A jury convicted Wright of burglary, sexual battery and aggravated stalking but found him not guilty of false imprisonment.
He faces up to life in prison and will be sentenced the week of Jan. 13, the State Attorney’s Office said.
