A Flint teen is facing charges after police allege he shot and killed a 36-year-old man earlier this year on the city’s south side.
Shamar Quantee Lewis, 19, was arraigned Friday, April 17, on a charge of first-degree felony murder in the Jan. 2 shooting death of Jamie Lee Rappuhn.
Rappuhn was killed while driving his 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck in the area Stonegate Drive and Chambers Street shortly before 6 p.m.
Authorities said Rappuhn’s truck failed to follow a curve toward Chambers, and it continued on to hit a dumpster and mailbox. The truck went on to hit a porch on the front of an apartment.
A medical examiner ruled Rappuhn suffered a fatal gunshot wound, which killed him prior to the crash.
Lewis is also facing charges of felony firearm and delivery/manufacture of less than 50 grams of cocaine in connection with the killing.
Police have not released details of any potential motive behind Rappuhn’s death — the city’s first homicide of 2015.
The arraignment came two weeks after Crime Stoppers announced it was offering up to $2,500 for information that would lead to an arrest in the case.
