Anthony Dwayne Rideau, 41, of Magnolia, was being held Wednesday on $300,000 bond on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the county sheriff’s office. Authorities allege that Rideauused a tire iron to batter and facture the skullof Aaron McMahon, 31, until he lost consciousness. Then, they allege, Rideau turned the weapon against the victim’s 58-year-old father, Michael, who was “incoherent” when authorities got there. Emergency workers tried to resuscitate the son, but he was pronounced dead soon after arrival at a Tomball hospital. His father was also treated there for injuries that authorities said were incapacitating but not life-threatening. His condition was not available Wednesday evening.
