Charmayne Dayse was a home health care worker who cared for Nicholas and Carol Trivisonno in Highland Heights. But over the years, she gained their trust and raided their bank accounts, credit cards and even their home equity line for nearly $250,000.
Prosecutors were worried that the couple’s failing health would preclude them from testifying against her and jeopardize their case. They wanted to take a deposition at their home.
Dayse’s attorneys objected until the day we confronted her at the Justice Center last month.
The deposition was scheduled for Monday, but when they learned our camera would be there, she pleaded guilty.
Dayse said little in court. Prosecutors are still sorting through the amount of her restitution, but it is more than $170,000, which is a serious felony.
Prosecutors have copies of the checks, as well as a Louie Vuitton bag, Coach purse and diamond necklace taken from the Trivisonno home.
“I think there’s a good chance this defendant will go to jail, which is appropriate considering the amount of money that she took from these victims. She really ruined their lives,” said prosecutor Matt Meyer.
