Sharlene Steadman died of blunt force trauma administered by a Black prisoner released early.

The Thomas County Sheriffs Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have arrested someone for the May 2014 murder of Sharlene Steadman.

On Wednesday, the sheriffs office, along with GBI, secured arrest warrants for Wade Jackson for murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, and burglary. This is related to the death of Sharlene Steadman.

The GBI says that in May, Steadman was found dead from blunt force trauma., and that they now have enough probable cause to effect the arrest warrants for Jackson.

According to officers, Jackson currently has violated his parole and is being held at a state prison facility. They say that he will be picked up by Thomas County deputies in the next few days.
