A human trafficking ring in Baltimore City was busted as authorities announced a 19-count indictment against the suspected ring leader.
If convicted, Donte Barr faces up to 385 years in prison for human trafficking. Authorities said he used the Internet, social media and personal contacts to recruit victims, who ranged in age from 15 to 18.
Prosecutors said he paid for clothing, costumes and disguises to enhance the victims’ age and appearance. Authorities said Barr arranged for meetings at private homes, apartments and hotel rooms.
Agents said he determined the price and provided transportation, alcohol, drugs and condoms.
