Phillip Scott.
Can you remember a time when you didn’t have to worry about some monkey kidnapping you while you used an ATM?
Because I can’t.
A Battle Creek man charged with robbing and kidnapping a woman at an ATM last year insisted Wednesday he was innocent.
“I am completely innocent. This is all new to me,” Phillip Scott, 33, told Calhoun County District Court Magistrate David Heiss. “There is very little or no evidence to sustain what these claims are.”
Scott was arraigned on eight counts including armed robbery, carjacking, unlawful imprisonment, and several weapons charges as well as being an habitual offender. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Battle Creek police allege he was involved in the March 18 robbery and kidnapping of a 27-year-old woman outside the Omni Family Credit Union at 220 E. Roosevelt Ave.
