An East Texas man listed as a ‘person of interest’ in a 2007 murder has been shot and killed by his girlfriend in Oklahoma.

Willie Boley of Palestine was shot and killed by his girlfriend after an argument in Oklahoma City on Sunday. Police said they do not expect to charge her for the shooting. Boley had a criminal past, including an assault on a family member arrest in March 2012 and sentencing December 2013.

Boley was named a person of interest in the 2007 murder of Marianne Wilkinson from North Richland Hills.  Wilkinson was shot and killed answering her front door in December 2007. Police believe the killer had the wrong address and opened fire on the wrong house.

Wilkinson’s killer was never caught, but police were hoping for information they believe Boley had in connection to the crime.

Willie Boley was wanted in connection with the White woman’s murder but had remained hidden. He has just been shot and killed by his girlfriend.

After Boley’s death, Wilkinson’s family is now left with even more questions.

“Our first reaction was just sort of shock,” said Michael Wilkinson, Marianne Wilkinson’s son. “Here’s a man who’s a person of interest for a reason, so he apparently knows something that could have been helpful.”

The family believes police have done everything they can in the case, but they are still holding out hope that someone will come forward with information.

The Wilkinson murder remains open, and is on the Texas Rangers list of Top 12 unsolved homicides.
