Bolsonaro: “Face It – You’ll Probably All Get Coronavirus”

FINALLY.

Coronavirus is the flu. We’re all going to get it.

Deal with it.

The Telegraph:

President Jair Bolsonaro has said nearly everyone will probably end up catching the new coronavirus, urging Brazilians to “face up to it” and saying there was nothing to fear.

The far-right leader’s latest bid to downplay the pandemic came as Brazil closed in on the grim milestone of 100,000 people killed by the virus, the second-highest death toll in the world, after the United States.

Mr Bolsonaro, who has spent three weeks in quarantine after being infected with the virus, pointed to his own case as an example.

“I’m in the high-risk group,” the 65-year-old president told journalists during a visit to the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.

“I knew I was going to catch it someday, as I think unfortunately nearly everyone here is going to catch it eventually. What are you afraid of? Face up to it,” he said.

“I regret the deaths. But people die every day, from lots of things. That’s life.”

YES.

Life is life and in life people die.

It’s sad, sure. But it’s life. Death is a part of life. We cannot stop all death. All of us will die someday, and part of being a fully developed adult – maybe the biggest part – is accepting the inevitability of death and realizing that you need to make the best of what you have while you’re here because it won’t last forever.

Death is stalking all of us, waiting for us.

Only the weakest fail to come to terms with that, fail to allow it to make their lives more meaningful.

Allowing people to become fixated and obsessed with death is regressive. It is putting people on the level of animals. It is an extremely negative phenomenon, by any measure.

It’s time for all of us to move on with our lives. Bolsonaro survived coronavirus, as will 99.98% of people who get it, but we do have to accept that yes, some old people are going to die from this virus. And that is okay.

If you’re still scared, listen to this song. I think it will really help you.
