Davieyon Devall Hopkins, 21, of Hendersonville, was taken into custody in Spartanburg, South Carolina early Thursday morning by officers from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, U.S. Marshall’s Office and Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release from the Brevard Police Department.
Police believe Hopkins shot and killed Waybern Shelton, and he has been charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and felony conspiracy, the release says.

Also charged in connection with the shooting are Monterius Demario Winn, 27, of Hendersonville, who faces felony accessory and conspiracy charges; Ebony Atia Wynn, 33, of Brevard, charged with felony accessory and conspiracy; Kaitlin Danielle Hall, 20, of Brevard, charged with felony accessory and conspiracy; and Brooklyn Lane Worley, 18, of Brevard, charged with felony accessory after the fact.

On Monday, a Transylvania County grand jury heard evidence and issued indictments for all five suspects.
The Brevard Police Department received substantial assistance in the case from the State Bureau of Investigation.
