I’m the guy that talked to Sisi (Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi) to convince him to open the door” to let humanitarian aid enter through the Rafah border crossing from Gaza into Egypt.

The headline is sort of confusing. Calling for a “pause” is definitely different than calling for a “ceasefire.” Regardless, the main story is that he did call for a “pause.” Denying a heckler’s demand is not a major event.
But Russia is going hard for Palestine. Which is based. They met with Hamas shortly after Hamas killed a bunch of civilians. Based. But moreover, Russia’s strategy is to have influence over nonwhite countries by condemning other white countries for exploiting them.
I’m not against the decolonization language that Russia sometimes uses when addressing this issue. I understand why it causes some right-wingers to prickle, given that it is language generally used by leftists. But seriously: what was the point of colonialism? The only good result was America, where the natives were transferred. Everything else was a disaster. I don’t have “defense of colonialism” as part of my identity. In fact, one can view colonialism as a precursor of modern globalism.
If you’re not going to remove the local population, there is no benefit of colonialism that can’t be achieved through trade outposts, backed up by small regional port cities like Singapore. Sir Stamford Raffles bought Singapore outright from the Sultan. Unlike the rest of the colonial states, Singapore is still there, because it actually makes logical sense, as it is too economically beneficial and too non-offensive in size for the natives to want to try to seize it or otherwise even complain about it.
You built big boats, and you want to get natural resources from the rest of the world. Okay, great. Well, they don’t have good economies in these countries, so they will just sell you those resources cheaply, and there will be no conflict. You don’t need to claim dominion over them and set up a state.
Of course, the actual reason that European powers set up these states is that they were competing with one another. If you set up a state in a brown people area, you can kick out other states’ trade posts. But it should have been orderly. The Pope should have signed a treaty with the British agreeing that the establishing of states on land already occupied by people is both unjust and bound to lead to poor outcomes.
It’s not like anyone involved on the colonial end actually thought the natives could be turned into Europeans. If you read what they wrote, they were all saying that the project was totally doomed, whichever peoples they were talking about. But the assertion was that even the blacks could be turned into white men if they just got the right education. (Meanwhile, the Portuguese were allowing the Jews to run African slave ships to the Americas, which suggests that it was clear to them that the African problem was a bit more complex than a need for a clean shirt and a pair of shiny shoes.)
Of course, the problem is that the left condemns colonialism as a way to condemn whites, and it is tied to the justification of mass immigration (“reverse colonialism” as revenge), black riots, and so on. So, I’m not saying that I agree with the leftist dogma on the topic, simply that I think it’s fair to say that colonialism was an unfortunate series of events (excepting America and Australia, and maybe New Zealand, I would have to think and read some things on that, and then also excepting Singapore and really Hong Kong and Macau too).
But now you have Israel supporters attempting to say to right-wingers that colonialism was good and cool and the white man ruled the world, and actually, Israel is just like that, and when the Arabs attack Israel, they’re actually attacking whites. Some of the Jews and shills saying this now are people who have supported mass immigration. That Jew from the Babylon Bee said he wanted all people on earth to race mix to stop racism by making everyone the same, then after the Hamas attack he started saying it was a war on white people. Hamas is actually not at war with white people, and in fact, they’re not even at war with colonialism, they are at war with the Jews.
I will always side with Russia, regardless. If I thought colonialism was very glorious and a really good idea, it would not bother me that Russia condemns it. But I genuinely do not care about that. The reasonable way to exercise global power is what Thomas Jefferson said: friendship and trade.
Russia and China are following a model promoted by the Founding Fathers, while we ignore them. Russia is going hard for Palestine because this is a way to get virtually all the Moslems on Russia’s side. Well, that’s the practical reason. Again, we do have to consider that there is a legitimate moral outrage at the Jews for mass-slaughtering children.
