Everything brown people do is dangerous.
A California man who had been charged in the death of a car salesman is now considered a fugitive after failing to report to court, a district attorney’s office said Tuesday.
Alex Mark Demetro, 28, was charged last week with one count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, one count of driving under the influence of a drug and causing injury and one count of driving on a suspended license, the Los Angeles Times reported.
He was scheduled to appear in court the day he was charged but didn’t show, which caused the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office to issue a warrant, the paper reported. He posted $100,000 bail the day after the accident.
The accident occurred on Feb. 23 in Ontario, authorities said. A witness told police that Demetro lost control of the Corvette while driving at speeds up to 70 mph, according to KTLA.
Warren Smale, 43, was identified as the CarMax salesman killed in the accident while taking Demetro out on a test drive. He was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
