Rape culture is the worst.
Rape culture is the worst.

Who else is sick of this “rape culture” nonsense? Bud Light has been heavily criticized on social media lately because of a slogan on their beer labels that supposedly promotes “rape culture.”

The slogan reads: “The perfect beer for removing ‘no’ from your vocabulary for the night.”

NPR:

Anheuser-Busch says the slogan is one of many messages it has printed on beer labels as part of its “UpForWhatever” ad campaign. But it acknowledges that it “missed the mark” with this one, saying that it has stopped making the label.

The move follows heavy criticism of the message via social media and on Reddit, where a photo of the label was placed beneath a not-safe-for-work title that expressed incredulity at the message.

Any sane person would read that slogan and understand that Anheuser-Busch intended to market Bud Light as a beer that tastes great—one can’t drink just one bottle or can.

But it’s definitely not surprising that Anheuser-Busch would rather pander to feminists than potentially lose money from customers that actually desire to buy their cheap, mainstream beer.

This is yet another instance of feminists blowing everything out of proportion and creating controversy where there shouldn’t be any.
