This California “assassination attempt” hoax is some kind of PR campaign by the local sheriff, as the guy is an established Trump supporter, involved with the campaign and personally invited to the event. All he did was have guns in his car, which he told the cops about at a checkpoint, which is the only reason he was arrested.
The New York Post was hyping this and then had to walk it back, but continued to suggest that it was possible he was planning an assassination:
The armed suspect who was arrested on weapons charges on his way to Donald Trump’s California rally denied the local sheriff’s assertion he wanted to kill the ex-president, calling the accusations on Sunday, “bullsh-t.”
Vem Miller, 49, reportedly claimed he’s a Trump supporter a day after he was cuffed Saturday afternoon near the Coachella Valley rally at a checkpoint — where sheriff deputies found a pair of guns and ammunition in his car.
While Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said he “truly” believes his deputies stopped a third assassination attempt against the Republican presidential nominee, Miller told the Southern California News Group on Sunday he was “shocked” by the allegations.
“These accusations are complete bullsh-t,” Miller told the news outlet. “I’m an artist, I’m the last person that would cause any violence and harm to anybody.”
Miller, who sources alleged to The Post is part of a far right anti-government group, said he was invited to the rally by the head of the Clark County GOP Party, and was donning a Trump shirt and hat when he ran into authorities at the checkpoint.

You can just Google the guy, he’s got a whole bunch of social media. You don’t need sources to allege anything to you about his affiliations.
The weapons, a shotgun and loaded handgun, were bought in 2022 for personal protection, Miller told the local outlet.
He said he told deputies he was carrying the firearms in his trunk – as a courtesy – before he was pulled over and forced to leave the car. The car was then “ransacked” after a deputy informed him he wanted to make sure the guns were legal purchases, he claimed.
Miller, a registered Republican who ran unsuccessfully for office in Nevada in 2022, also denied he flashed a fake press pass at the checkpoint — as the sheriff alleged — but instead offered a “special entry pass,” the outlet reported.
The Las Vegas resident told the publication he was not informed why he was taken into custody, and only after he was detained for hours was he allowed to call a lawyer. He said he then recalled the incident while in front of FBI and Secret Service agents, who reportedly wanted to interview him.
Deputies later told Miller, who runs an organization that rails against the mainstream media, that the sit-down with the feds was scrapped, he claimed.
This guy is a known pro-Trump activist, who knows a bunch of people in the Trump campaign.
He’s not some rando. If you look him up (and set the search so it doesn’t include these reports from the weekend), he’s on a lot of podcasts and does YouTube and other stuff. He’s been making right-wing documentaries for years.

MAGA is obsessed with “they’re trying to kill Trump!” so they ran with this all over Twitter, defaming this guy. If I were him, I would sue all of these people. Although I guess this is probably good for his career, getting some national notoriety.
Here’s a question: why were there no “attempted assassinations” of Trump in 2020? People were a lot more worked up about that one, on both sides. The Proud Boys were out attacking trannies in the streets. Everything was hyped up.
Right now, there isn’t any energy on either side. No one really cares about Trump or Kamala, other than a handful of exhausted morons.
Trump is pro-abortion, Kamala is pro-Israel. What reason do people have to get upset? Babies are going to keep dying in the Middle East and in America regardless of who “wins” this fake election.
