Casus Belli: The Blockade of Kaliningrad is the Single Most Serious Attack on Russia So Far

This is a major issue.

It’s a lot bigger than all of these illegal sanctions and even bigger than sending all these weapons to the Ukraine. This is a direct challenge to Russia’s established territorial sovereignty, and it’s more than a total justification for an invasion of Lithuania.

But that’s the bait.

Of course, it’s impossible to know who is baiting who anymore. Russia has clearly planned for every eventuality, and this was an obvious one.

RT:

Moscow’s retaliation to Lithuania’s transport “blockade” of Russia’s Kaliningrad Region will seriously affect Lithuanian citizens, Nikolay Patrushev, the head of Russia’s Security Council, has said.

“Of course, Russia will respond to hostile actions. Appropriate measures are in the works, and will be adopted in the near future,” Patrushev told reporters during a trip to Kaliningrad on Tuesday.

He added that the consequences of Moscow’s response will “have a serious negative impact on the people of Lithuania.”

Kaliningrad Region is a small Russian exclave sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania. On Saturday, Lithuania’s national railway operator banned the flow of sanctioned goods between the region and the rest of Russia, citing instructions from the European Commission.

Yeah – it wasn’t Lithuania’s idea.

This is a top level bait move, coming straight from the top shelf of the Bait Master.

The High Minister of Bait.

The Third Sister of Bait.

But this bait is not going to work.

Russia has some kind of plan here to turn the whole thing around, like when they forced everyone to pay for gas in rubles.

Everything the West does is an attempt to provoke a rash action by Russia. This is the most extreme attempt at that yet, but it’s not going to work. If I were Putin, I would shut off all energy supplies to Europe, completely, in response to this. Putin has that option, he’s always had that option, and Europe has no response.

It seems to me that the first direct infringement on Russian territorial sovereignty is the time you use that option.

But what the hell do I know?
