Chimpcongo Police Searching for Five Coons Who Stabbed White Ironworker


Looks like more baboons have escaped from Brookfield Zoo.

The Animal Control Officers had better bring their strongest tranquilizers – these lowland apes don’t go down without a fight.

Chicago Police said they are using surveillance photos of five suspects connected with the stabbing of a CTA employee Friday.

The CTA employee was stabbed on the platform at a CTA Red Line station Friday morning, Chicago police said.

That employee is recovering at Northwestern Hospital as of Saturday morning.

Investigators have released these photos from surveillance cameras in the area.

The stabbing occurred at about 2 a.m. at the Roosevelt station, according to police. Police said a person was being chased by a group of three people.

The person being chased ran behind a CTA employee, 38-year-old ironworker, Michael Gardiner, was stationed on the platform.

“Screaming and yelling at him, you know, give us the money, swearing,” Gardiner described.

Michael Gardiner said when the three didn’t relent, the trio grabbed the man.

“They were about to push him on the tracks,” Gardiner remembered.

That’s when he said he stepped in, throwing one of the men to the ground.

Gardiner was stabbed in the chest and stomach as he tried to defuse the situation, police said.

One ironworker said when [the suspects] ran back up the stairs the suspects also sprayed mace in the face of another CTA worker.

The suspects fled the scene. The victim was transported by a coworker to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he’s recovering after undergoing surgery.
