Cui bono, Cui Tiankai?

On Sunday, CBS’ Face the Nation asked Chinese Ambassador Cui Tiankai about the claims of the neocon shill Tom Cotton that the Coronavirus may have come from a Chinese lab. He answered by saying that was crazy, and was designed to stir up global hatred for the Chinese.

“For one thing, this will create panic. Another thing that it will fend up racial discrimination, xenophobia, all these things, that will really harm our joint efforts to combat the virus,” he said.

Then he noted that others believe that the Coronavirus is a bioweapon created by the US.

“There are people who are saying that these viruses are coming from… some military lab, not of China, maybe in the United States… How can we believe all these crazy things?”

Basically: “Oh well, your politicians can suggest we did it, our politicians are suggesting you did it – it’s all crazy, right?”

He then went on to talk about it coming from animals.

Of course, if I was the Chinese and I was planning to release a revenge bioweapon virus against the US in retaliation, I would go along with the US theory that this is not a bioweapon.
