Cloudflare Drops 8chan After Third Shooter Manifesto Posted to the Site

I think it is fair to say that it is completely insane that I became the first person to ever be banned from Cloudflare over a fat joke, and 8chan was able to keep the service until the third mass shooter posted a manifesto there.

Of course, I wasn’t banned for a fat joke. That was just a convenient excuse. I was banned because I am really, really good at exposing the Jews in a way that people find enlightening and entertaining.

8chan was probably banned for the stated reason of the shooting manifestos.

NBC News:

Internet services provider Cloudflare announced on Sunday that it planned to cease doing business with an online forum that a gunman apparently used before killing 20 people in El Paso, Texas, the company said.

Cloudflare’s CEO, Matthew Prince, wrote in a blog post that his company was dropping 8chan after gunmen in Christchurch, New Zealand, and Poway, California, also used the site.

The anonymous forum, which the Anti-Defamation League has tied to the rise of online extremism, had shown itself to be “lawless,” Prince said. “That lawlessness has caused multiple tragic deaths. Even if 8chan may not have violated the letter of the law in refusing to moderate their hate-filled community, they have created an environment that revels in violating its spirit.”

In El Paso, investigators are “reasonably confident” that suspect Patrick Crusius, 21, posted an anti-immigrant screed on the site shortly before the shooting. That note referenced the mass killing in Christchurch, when a white supremacist gunman allegedly gunned down 51 people and posted links to a livestream of the attack on 8chan.

In Poway, a gunman also posted “a hate-filled ‘open letter’ on 8chan,'” Prince said. “8chan has repeatedly proven itself to a be a cesspool of hate.”

Cloudflare provides services like protection against common cyberattacks that can cripple websites, and Prince has described himself as a “free-speech absolutist.” The company has only cut service once before — to neo-Nazi site the Daily Stormer after a white supremacist protest in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He’s a free speech absolutist that draws the line at fat jokes and mass shootings. Those are the only two things known to man to fall outside of the bounds of the absolute.

It sucks for 8chan. Not having Cloudflare is a bitch.

8chan has become inundated with shilling over the last year or so, and owner Jim Watkins hasn’t been able to give it the care he needs because his home is constantly under siege by VICE journalists. But I’ll always have a soft spot for them since they provided us with a haven when m00t went nuts with his Jewish girlfriend and banned #gamergate threads from 4chan (if you don’t know that story, don’t worry about it; I’m not going to bother to look up the links because it doesn’t matter).

Furthermore, 8chan should be allowed to say whatever they want. Someone posting a manifesto on your site is not a crime. If it is a crime, it is the cops’ job to deal with it, not Cloudflare’s.

8chan is one of the last places on the internet with absolute free speech. Even though it’s a shilled-out disaster, the fact that it exists is important and good.

I just hope they don’t go for their domain like they did mine. It seems likely at this point that they might try that.

Or maybe not. The fact that it’s been revealed that Saturday’s second shooter was a leftist presumably means that both shooters will be dropped from the media, so the pressure to silence 8chan will let up.

But hey – is Hotwheels trolling or what?

Why would he say that?

I am so, so tired of censorship. And having Hotwheels voice support for it stings my soul like a gigantic ultra-bee.

I wish Donald Trump would save us from this censorship. I don’t care anymore if he builds a wall or deports anyone. I just want to have my freedoms back.
