First-degree murder charges have been filed in the death of a Union woman.

Rico T. Clark, 27, was indicted by a Lincoln County Grand Jury in the death of Megan M. Moody, 29.

In addition to the murder charge, Clark also was charged with armed criminal action, a felony.

Clark was scheduled for an arraignment Monday, Aug. 6. in front of Lincoln County Presiding Circuit Judge Chris Kunza Mennemeyer.

Moody, who also went by the name Megan Clark, was found dead in a Lincoln County motel Sunday, July 1. Her body was found at the Elsberry Motel and Lodge with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to a probable cause statement filed in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office by Union police, Moody was the victim of a third-degree domestic assault May 13 in the 400 block of Brown Street, Union.

Rico Clark was charged days after Moody was found dead in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with third-degree domestic assault.
