Murder-suicides seem to be rather common with nogs and their coalburning girlfriends.
Trust me: I’m not complaining.

Henderson police say 42-year old Nicole Barker was shot and killed in her home near Eastern Avenue and Robindale Road on Sept. 20, by her longtime partner, 39-year old Antoine Hartwell.
After shooting Barker, Hartwell took his own life. Hartwell and Barker had children together.
“The relationship had took a turn for the worse. She was ready to part and he snapped,” said Joseph Scavo, a resident who knew the couple.
Friends and family say Nicole was a wonderful kind loving mom who always looked out for everyone.
“People have to be not afraid to reach out. Express their feelings. What a waste of life. It’s just terrible,” says Scavo.
“If a batterer has access to a gun or if you’ve ever been strangled in the relationship those our markers, you are walking to lethality,” Liz Ortenburger, CEO of SafeNest, said.

Scavo says the neighborhood will miss the couple that seemed happy with life.
“I’m just shocked because they seemed like a nice couple. They always had a lot of people over. It looks like he interacted well with everybody. They kept to themselves,” he said.
