The government of Canada has gone into a hysterical mania because people parked a bunch of trucks in the street and then just keep honking the horns for days on end.
They’re like, ready to send in Mossad snipers.
But then, after they assassinate all the drivers, how will they get all the trucks out of the road? Tow them with bigger trucks? I mean, I guess they can pull the keys off the corpses and try to drive them all out, but whatever the case – that would take forever.
Maybe there is some type of Israeli logistical company they can contract…?
RT:
Ottawa Police Services Board held an emergency meeting on Saturday afternoon, but failed to devise a clear plan of action regarding truck drivers and their supporters, who have been protesting against the country’s Covid-19 mandates for over a week.
“We are on day eight of this occupation. Our city is under siege. What we’re seeing is bigger than just a City of Ottawa problem. This is a nationwide insurrection. This is madness. We need a concrete plan to put an end to this,” said the chair of the board, Ottawa City Council member Diane Deans, at the beginning of the nearly two-hour-long virtual discussion.
It’s truly madness. It’s like that Alfred Hitchcock movie “The Birds.”
Remember, at the end, you never really understand why the birds started attacking people. Just so, the Canadian government cannot understand why these trucks hate democracy.
Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly agreed with her portrayal of the situation, saying that local law enforcement was “never intended to deal with a city under siege,” and decried the lack of resources – and legal authority – to disperse the protest.
Deans asked Solly what kind of resources and help he needs to put an end to the demonstration “right now,” and whether he wants the city to request assistance from the federal government or even the military. Solly said there is “no quick answer,” as the situation is constantly evolving, and reiterated that “we do not have sufficient resources to adequately and effectively address this situation.”
At one point, Deans wondered whether the city had legal grounds to declare an unlawful assembly and then a riot, in order to conduct mass arrests, instead of pursuing “one criminal charge at a time.”
“There are so many people out there engaged in a broader act of… mayhem, that we need to be able to bring it all under control,” she said.
“We can’t allow this kind of terrorism in our community to continue this way.”
As of Saturday afternoon, police estimated at least “500 heavy vehicles associated with the demonstration to be in the red zone,” as thousands of people joined the protest at Parliament Hill and elsewhere across Ottawa for a second weekend. Smaller groups of counter-protesters were also reported in the streets, even as a major rival event was called off last minute.
It’s actually shocking that they dropped the t-word.
But I guess they’re just copying the US government’s response to January 6 here. Canada always just copies everything the US does, but they do it in this gay, half-assed way.
Obviously, I don’t mean the truckers themselves – they are the most brilliant political dissidents in recent memory. But the government is just like “uhhhh, these people are protesting against us in a peaceful way and we have no way to stop them… just call them terrorists, like the US does to peaceful protesters.”
Right now, this is a Mexican standoff.
The government can’t possibly roll back their measures at the behest of protesters, or the whole entire concept of an authoritarian democracy collapses. If they bend at all, then no one is going to ever follow their brutal dictates ever again.
The government of Canada could surrender like the Afghan government surrendered to the Taliban and Trudeau could flee in a helicopter full of cash. But he won’t do that. He’s still in hiding.
So the only thing they can really do is mass arrests, probably using the military.
If I was among these truckers, and knew mass arrests were coming, I would definitely lose the keys to my truck. I’m not a truck mechanic, but I would also probably cut a few cords in the engine and figure out a way to lock the brakes. Also, I would try to lock the horn so it couldn’t be turned off easily.
But hey – who am I to give these guys advice? I was of so little faith.
But they ended up doing the best thing ever.
