When you talk to Coronavirus Doom Cultists and point out that this actually isn’t a big deal and shutting down the entire society is an insane response, they inevitably mention Italy having a high mortality rate.
But the details of this are not really stated.
Firstly, calling it the “Italian outbreak” is kind of wrong, because most of Italy is fine. It would make more sense to call it the “Milan outbreak” or the “Lombardy outbreak,” as virtually all of the cases – and all of the problems with logistics and so on – are in Milan and surrounding areas.
The media specified Wuhan when talking about the China outbreak, and yet they’re giving the impression that the entire country of Italy is infected, which is wrong. The reason for the logistics problems is that the massive majority of these cases are in the same small area. That’s why hospitals are overwhelmed and so on. There wouldn’t be problems if the current number of infections were spread out across the entire country.
Another important thing to understand is that Milan is extremely wealthy and extremely old. It is an entire city of boomers and older who made their money when all the rest of the boomers of the world were making their money, and are now living it up in an idyllic area of the country not affected by the migrant plague.
The entire region is basically a retirement home.
Italians are the most physical of all people on earth, probably. Even the men kiss each other on the lips.
So you have a perfect storm here.
Even with all of that, the actual statistics of who’s dying are absolutely not something to panic about. But these statistics are not being talked about by the Doom Cultists, because they limit their message of Ultimate Doom.
According to official government health data from just over a week ago, nearly 100% of the people who have died have pre-existing conditions and the average age of death is nearly 80.
More than 99% of coronavirus patients who died in Italy suffered from other, pre-existing health issues, according to a study by the country’s health officials.
The new research from the National Institutes of Health released Tuesday evaluated 355 of the country’s fatalities and found that only three patients had no prior medical conditions.
Nearly half the COVID-19 victims suffered from at least one of the following conditions: high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease.
More than 75% reported high blood pressure, while 35% had diabetes and 33% had heart disease, according to the study.
The average age of the victims was 79.5.
These people keep trying to deride “it’s just a flu, bro,” but literally, any flu could have done this to Lombardy.
If a flu outbreak had killed a few thousand people in one province in Italy at any other time in history, you wouldn’t know about it, and most people in Italy wouldn’t know about it. Hell, most people in Milan itself wouldn’t know about it. Every single year, the flu has “hot spots” where larger numbers of people die than elsewhere. And these numbers are not outside of that trend which has existed forever.
I will say it one more time: there are between 300,000 and 500,000 global deaths from the flu every single year. Now think about that spread across the cold areas of the world (North America, Europe and East Asia), where relatively few of the world’s 7,000,000,000 people live.
Every year there are places where the flu death toll is especially high and the hospitals struggle to cope, as is happening in Italy.
In 2018, 80,000 Americans died of the flu.
In New York City, there are currently just over 5,000 cases of hospitalization with Coronavirus, while in 2018, there were over 23,000 people hospitalized with the flu. I’m sure the hospitals were really struggling then. But you didn’t hear about it.
In Lombardy, the same problem exists as exists everywhere else outside of Asia, where no one knows how many people have it because there is not widespread testing, making the morality rate difficult to ascertain.
It is almost certain that huge numbers of people have this virus across the world and don’t know, because they just have a little cough and the sniffles or no symptoms at all.
“Italy Tho” is Not a Gotcha
The Doom Cultists pointing to Italy and saying “SEE LOOK” is not actually a gotcha. It can be explained as something that is not actually a big deal, which people wouldn’t even know about if it wasn’t for the hysteria surrounding this virus.
The Doom Cultists are not ethical and will do whatever they can to spread their pandemonium and try to get people to go along with surrendering total control to the US government.
“Italy tho” is not any more of a gotcha than their insane claim that millions of people secretly died in China, which they know from cellphone data. This hoax was initially spread by the CIA website “Epoch Times,” which is run by the fake religious cult Falun Gong (and which hilariously has taken to calling Coronavirus the “CCP virus”).
In fact, Chinese people almost all have two separate cellphone numbers, and this is probably mostly due to (internal, Chinese) migrant workers stopping paying their second line, registered in the city they work, for a month as they went back to their provinces during the outbreak. The data itself was publicly released by the Chinese government in a report on the economic fallout from the virus.
But can you even imagine the mind of someone who is spreading the theory that 21 million people secretly died in China and there is no evidence of it? And the United Nations and the American CDC is helping them cover it up? This is a flat earth level conspiracy theory, but the people spreading it are probably not the kinds of people who believe in flat earth, they are just in a state of hysteria and are incapable of thinking clearly because they’ve been whipped into a frenzy by the media.
Seriously: whenever you talk to one of these people, and you press them for a little bit, they will revert to this cellphone claim, and you can take that as meaning that this person is incapable of thinking clearly and thus nothing they are saying can be taken seriously.
The Bottom Line
Those of you who read the site regularly are aware of the fact that I was not saying “just a flu” when this started. I was and still am of the belief that this virus is a bioweapon, and it seemed possible that it had gotten out of control and could end up being a disaster.
But at this point in the game, we know that it isn’t going to be a disaster, and telling every single person in America to constantly stay locked in their homes and never come within 6 feet of another human being – and don’t even get me started on spraying the streets with toxic chemical gas – is a completely insane measure which actually is a disaster.
We are dealing with a situation of absolute mass hysteria that was created by the media and lunatics like Andrew Cuomo, apparently as an attack on Donald Trump, which has spiraled completely out of control.
I am not saying that this virus isn’t killing people. I am not even saying that when all is said and done, it won’t have been worse than the flu (although currently, this seems unlikely). I am saying that this kind of a response, this decision to collapse the economy and drive everyone insane, is disproportionate, and on the level of using a nuclear bomb to kill a chipmunk that is digging up your flowerbed.
We should have done mass testing in major cities. We should have told old people to stay home. And most of all, we should have worn masks.
The fact is that because of globalism, and because of the existence of biological warfare, we could end up in a real pandemic that actually would kill a huge number of people. And if we respond to this baby virus with this kind of maximum belligerence, how the heck are we going to deal with a serious problem?
What’s more, it is highly possible that Coronavirus will come back next year and actually be a lot more serious. What are we going to do then? Totally shut down everything and collapse the economy? Is this the point where for the rest of human history, we are going to be in a constant state of mass hysteria over viruses?
All of this energy should have been spent on getting ready for next year. Instead, we’re going to be in a horrible position to deal with it, because of the economic fallout and just general chaos on a scale never before seen in history caused by this self-inflicted wound.
Dear Doom Cultists
I feel for you. I really do. It must be horrible to feel the things you are feeling right now, and I don’t think you’re insane. Mass hysteria is a very real thing, and I am sorry that you had to experience it.
But you need to relax.
This virus is now the least of our problems.
