Following the first-ever Alt-Right press conference run by Richard Spencer, there was some controversy within the movement as to what was said, particularly surrounding the issue of not having any positions or policies and several statements praising the Jews.
I always try to stay positive about anything anyone is doing in the movement, so I don’t really feel a need to criticize Spencer too much. He went up there and gave a speech and made it clear he supports a White-only nation.
That said, however, there did appear to be an attempt to be very friendly towards Jews, praising neoconservatives (as a model of a successful political, not as good people, mind you) and praising the state of Israel (again, as a model of successful nationalism, though I would argue that Zionism isn’t nationalism but a diabolical form of globalism). Spencer also made a point to note that a White ethno-state would have “very good relations with Israel.”
Jared Taylor, who was also in attendance, actually came out and disagreed with Spencer, saying he thought Jews should be allowed to live in White countries.
However, despite these positive vibes toward the Jews, they’re not having it.
The Daily Beast made the Jewish issue their headline: “Alt-Right Leaders: We Aren’t Racist, We Just Hate Jews.” The article was written by a Betsy Woodruff, who I don’t think is even a Jew. She is however obsessed with the Alt-Right and the Jews, and is the one who pushed the Jew issue at the press conference.
She argues what the headline says – that if you don’t want Jews in your country, you hate them and are a Nazi.
The thing here is, the media doesn’t have the language anymore to distinguish between a Korean war vet in a Trump hat and a neo-Nazi. They use the same language to describe all of them.
That really gives us a lot of room to maneuver, which I believe we should take advantage of.
