Macron, who many might say is a “doomed pup,” is putting forward a deal that neither Putin nor the West (i.e., “Zelensky”) would ever be interested in.
Like, if you were coming up with a deal that you wanted to ensure both sides would reject out of hand, this is what you would put out there.

The French government may attempt to lure Kiev to the negotiating table with Russia by offering support for Ukraine’s accession to NATO after the conflict is over, French media reports.
According to Le Monde, this approach was discussed at the Elysee Palace on Monday last week by the French Defense Council. The hope is that if Ukraine joins the US-led military bloc, this would deter further hostilities, according to the report on Tuesday. A military source told the newspaper that the French position is “closer to that of Poland than that of Germany.”
It has a sort of abstract kind of feel to me.
But what do I know?
Russia considers NATO a hostile organization and has called attempts to include Ukraine in the bloc a ‘red line’ for national security. Moscow launched its military operation in the neighboring country last year after NATO members refused to discuss its security concerns. The organization was quietly absorbing Ukraine without formally including it, Russian officials claimed.
The deliberations in Paris come ahead of a summit of NATO leaders which will take place in Lithuania next month. Last week, US President Joe Biden poured cold water on hopes that Ukraine’s candidacy would be fast-tracked. He stated that the country would have to meet the same standards as everyone else and that “we are not going to make it easy.”
The Biden administration is reportedly siding with the cautious German position rather than with Poland and other countries which want to see a swift roadmap for Ukraine to join NATO. According to the New York Times, Kiev may instead receive an upgrade of relations with the bloc to the council level – the same that Russia once had – and a pledge of continued arms supplies.
Basically, America is already acquiescing to Russia’s demand that the Ukraine not join NATO, and they are not really making an effort to seriously “retake” the Donbass, as we’ve seen with this joke
I’m so sick of hearing about “security guarantees.”
Russia already made a deal offering security guarantees, and signed it. It was called the “Minsk accords.” Zelensky’s government, with the backing of the United States, unilaterally violated the agreement.
What’s more: any potential peace deal would necessarily include security guarantees from Russia. That is what a “peace deal” is. (Not to mention, they had total security before the US overthrew the dually elected Ukraine government in a coup, but I suppose that is ancient history at this point.) Unlike the US, Russia does not think they rule the world and therefore does not simply violate deals they’ve made.
Any peace deal Russia signs, they are going to honor until it is unilaterally dissolved by the other side.
Russia is not going to agree to a deal with NATO involved, which Macron knows, so I don’t even get the point of this. Also, as of right now, Ukraine has said that they will not make any deal at all under any circumstances, and will continue to send random (Russian-speaking) teenagers they press-gang off the street to die for no reason.

Presumably, Macron is trying to send a signal to his own population, domestically, that he is doing something to try to stop the war, because the population is getting sick of this retarded nonsense.
Every educated person is able to see that the Ukraine, which currently has a population of less than 20 million people, is not going to win a war against Russia, regardless of the timescale, and Biden’s “as long as it takes” really just means “we will keep dumping money into this indefinitely, and we really don’t care how many people die or what happens to the European economy as a result.”
