– A Conway man has been charged with murder after he admitted to police that he knocked a 60-year-old man unconscious and dragged him outside his house Wednesday.
The victim was identified by Horry County Coroner Robert Edge as 60-year-old Albert Joseph Jamison, a white male, originally from McAllen, Texas, who appeared to be homeless. The autopsy revealed that he died from injuries resulting from blunt force trauma.
Joshua Gaston, 31, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder. According to the Horry County Police arrest warrant, Gaston told police he knocked Jamison unconscious with his fists, dragged him outside his house, and covered his body with a blanket. The body was discovered the next morning by a woman walking her dog, the police report states.
Police responded to the home on Kimberly Drive at around 8:30 a.m., where they say they found Jamison laying in the yard.
Gaston remains incarcerated at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Bond has not yet been set, according to jail records.
