Elon Musk just announced that he is going to start charging $8/mo ($96/yr) for the blue check.

The blue check was very political. Twitter was only giving it to people they liked (unless it was someone huge they had to give it to). Maybe this is a good idea – I don’t know. My first thought is that it’s not a very good idea, and many people will refuse to pay it. But I guess all of these journalists and their believers are addicted to Twitter. What’s more, the blue check has gained this prestige over the years, as it showed that you are a good boy, and every liberal wants to be a good boy.
I have seen a lot of people flip out demanding their blue check.
He’s only making it “half as many ads” instead of no ads.
I don’t think anyone can really argue this is worth $8, but I’ll pay it as long as I can pay in crypto – and, more importantly, as long as I’m allowed on the site.
I still do not know if I’m allowed on the site yet. We don’t even know if Donald Trump is allowed on the site.
It is already Tuesday, by the way, and here we are.
He did say that he’s leaving that Jew Yoel in charge of censorship, so…
I recommend following @yoyoel for the most accurate understanding of what’s happening with trust & safety at Twitter

This is not what I requested.
I specifically requested the opposite of this, in fact.
