There is technically still some possibility that the Elon Musk deal to purchase Twitter and reinstate freedom of speech could fall through, but this does not appear likely. What appears likely is that he is going to take over the company, and then probably be put in prison a few days or weeks later.
However, I am 100% behind him, whatever the case.
Ten years ago, I had a more or less negative view of Musk, which has become progressively more positive. I am still not sure of his alleged status as a genius, but at this point, I’m signed on all the way.
His most recent tweets show that this is headed in the exact right direction, in theory. What’s more: though I’ve previously criticized Musk for not being funny (actually, my main criticism, along with his refusal to open source his solution to male pattern baldness), he’s been on fire in terms of jokes and memes. That is to say: we are sensing that the Spirit of God moves in him.
Earlier this week, he tweeted about Donald Trump, implying he will be reinstated (and showing that he has Trump’s “Truth Social” installed on his phone).

Should be called Trumpet instead!
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 27, 2022
That isn’t a direct confirmation that Trump is coming back – but his statements that he will allow all speech protected by the First Amendment is a confirmation Trump is coming back.
This meme from the infamous Tim Pool showdown with that fat Pakistani woman on the Joe Rogan Show is fantastic and accurate.

This tweet is confusing, but it just seems to be a throwaway statement on neutrality.
For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally

No one on the right ever calls for censorship of speech. Even the Nazis didn’t ban any speech before the war started (and as I explained yesterday, America also bans speech during any serious war). I guess people on the right might call for banning the porno on Twitter, but it’s already pretty hard to accidentally find porno on Twitter.
This is very good.
Twitter DMs should have end to end encryption like Signal, so no one can spy on or hack your messages
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 28, 2022
He wants all of this to be open source, too, so like Signal, you’ll be able to confirm the encryption. A lot of people use the Twitter DM system just because it is convenient, and there is probably a huge amount of blackmail material that the intelligence agencies have collected on there – various men getting drunk and sending dick pics and so on, you understand. Or simply engaged in flirtatious behavior. Frankly, after the Snowden revelations, any form of unencrypted communication should have been considered anathema by all normal people. But people are stupid.
This was funny.
Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in

It’s funny in itself but it’s also funny as an analogy for putting free speech back into Twitter – he is doing something both fun and dangerous.
Let’s make Twitter maximum fun!

Also: Trumpian McDonald’s populism.

An accurate meme.

Musk seems to be on the same page as Tim Pool, basically. Which is fine. Tim Pool is fine. The show can be kind of boring I guess, but I’ve never ended up watching a Tim Pool video and been outraged by anything (aside from Elon Musk’s refusal to open source his solution to MPB).
What matters first and foremost in all of society is freedom of speech. That’s really the only thing that matters in the age of the internet, because the internet democratized speech. That’s why it was shut down. This is a new thing, this idea that anyone can reach any sized audience from their room with a $300 piece of machinery. It was the greatest thing ever before these people came on and censored.
The single reason that everything has gotten so completely out of control is censorship. Without this censorship, in an environment of democratized speech, the only thing that can eventually happen is that the best ideas triumph.
Remember: we’d only just figured out the hard facts of reality by 2012 or so. If you go back to the pre-/pol/ internet, you find that even though speech was free, it was basically very similar to the situation of shortwave radio, where there was some good stuff but it was filled with confusing and wrong narratives and information. On /pol/, people – primarily white male millennials from America and Western Europe – crowd-sourced the facts of reality, and came up with a pretty comprehensive vision of things.
If you go back to my earliest writings in the “far-right” sphere, you will no doubt find differences in my presentation and style – ups and downs and artistic changes – but in terms of the overarching worldview, nothing about my views has changed since becoming heavily engaged with /pol/ and their reading lists in 2012ish. So we then had that open period between 2012 and 2017, and during that period, we got Donald Trump elected. Whatever you want to say about Trump, he was a very big improvement from George W. Bush, in terms of right-wing politics, and if you had an improvement the size of Trump every cycle, you’d be living in a Na – in a serious Nationalist state within our lifetimes.
If Elon wants to take over America with a centrist version of vulgar populism, that’s fine with me. If we have the internet and free speech, a centrist vulgar populism is going to consistently move towards a right-wing vulgar populism.
Of course, I don’t think this is going to work. I think he’s probably going to prison. But hey – it would be pointless not to be optimistic when good things are happening right in front of you. I’m not privy to Elon’s Master Plan, but he must have one. Maybe it’s really good?
