A 19-year-old Lawrenceville man faces a number of charges related to a recent kidnapping and rape.
Emmanuel Brandon Dupree was arrested early Monday after police tracked down a car stolen during the crime.
Dupree is accused of a kidnapping, rape and car theft that occurred Oct. 20. Police said the victim was attacked at knifepoint in the parking lot of the Walmart on Lawrenceville Highway. The suspect also stole her credit cards, which he used at a nearby Kroger, and her white 2008 Kia Optima.
The stolen car was discovered at around 1:30 a.m. Monday at a Days Inn on West Pike Street, according to Lawrenceville Police Capt. Greg Vaughn.
Police found and arrested Dupree while interviewing guests at the Days Inn. He has been charged with rape, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony.
Dupree is being held without bond in the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
