“Conservative” politicians are going to have to get their shit together and start dealing with social media censorship.
Old media is dying, including Fox News, and if some rules are not put in place with regards to censoring political content on the internet is not addressed, the GOP is doomed.
The conservatives were so proud of themselves signaling against the Alt-Right, but the beast is coming after them now, and they need to get their shit together.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee who claimed allegations of social media censorship against conservatives were “baseless” and a “hoax,” on Thursday, received over $20,000 from Google parent company Alphabet between 2017 and 2018 alone, and received thousands more in previous years.
According to Open Secrets, Nadler received a total of $20,800 from Alphabet Inc. between 2017 and 2018, and a total of $18,350 between 2013 and 2014.
Records from the Federal Election Commission also reveal that Nadler has received regular disbursements from the Google Inc. NetPac in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, usually totalling $10,000 a year.
Alphabet Inc. was the highest contributor to Nadler’s campaign and leadership PAC in 2018, while Facebook also donated $2,500.
During a hearing on social media censorship before the House Judiciary Committee, Thursday, Nadler claimed censorship against conservatives was a conspiracy theory and a “hoax.”
“The notion that social media companies are filtering out conservative voices is a hoax,” declared Nadler, adding that allegations of a “Silicon Valley plot to censor conservatives” was “baseless.”
You see, that doesn’t even make sense.
Either people are getting banned or they’re not, and the Alt-Right was banned in its entirety (and we arguably fall under the broader umbrella of “conservative voices”) and a bunch of people like MILO were banned. Google is fixing search results and Facebook is fixing their news feeds – this is all public information.
But this is the way politics works – companies just pay politicians to shill and lie for them.
Anyway – whatever.
Remember when they used to attack China over internet censorship? They don’t bother mentioning that anymore do they?
The point here is, the GOP has to come together to get laws passed that allow regulation of big tech, which include free speech (and privacy) measures.
The entire point of censoring the Alt-Right was to get the slippery slope all slippy and slidey.
This is the future we face if we don’t wake up and stop these kikes.
