A man has been charged with 11 offences relating to historic child sexual exploitation in Rotherham.
Sajid Bostan, of Vernon Road, Rotherham, has now been bailed and will appear at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 25.
Police have charged the 38-year-old with 11 offences, including unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13, indecent assault and buggery.
It is alleged that the offences occurred between 1990 and 2001.
The charges are part of Operation Clover, a joint investigation by South Yorkshire Police, Rotherham Council and the Crown Prosecution Service following the long-running child sex abuse scandal in the town.
There are several non-recent CSE investigations ongoing at the moment.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Martin Tate, who is leading Operation Clover, said: “We are absolutely determined to achieve justice for survivors of such abuse and encourage all victims to come forward in the knowledge that they will be listened to.”
Anyone with concerns about child sexual exploitation should contact the force on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
