Who are we to tell children what they can do with their bodies?
Child prostitution is a grave problem in this country. Every year, countless tragedies befall us, which could be avoided with simple changes in legislations.
For example, people involved in child prostitution are put in jail non-stop, and even have to live with a criminal record from then on.
It’s a great thing that California, this eternal bastion of progressive ethics, has finally decided to tackle the child prostitution epidemic head on.
California Gov. Jerry Brown is approving legislation decriminalizing prostitution for minors and taking other steps to make life after human trafficking easier for those forced into it.
The Democratic governor announced Monday he signed SB1322 to ban police from charging people under the age of 18 with prostitution.
So what if kids want to sell their bodies for a little extra scratch?
This notion of having consequences for child prostitution is a violation of the most basic freedoms afforded to the individual. Other states should take not of California’s bold stance on this important issue.
He also signed bills allowing people to defend themselves against additional criminal charges or records if they were coerced to commit an offense as a human trafficking victim.
This doesn’t sound so bad, but all of this nonsense will serve to blur the lines between right and wrong. If a child selling his or her body is fine and dandy, then what about the scum who’s buying? The waters are muddied.
I suspect that that is the goal.
We truly live in an age of darkness. Instead of attacking this abhorrent scourge head-on, our perverse politicians instead squirm around the issue and undermine the moral fabric of the nation.
In a healthy society, the pimps and customers of this child prostitution racket would be executed swiftly, while their parents would spend a good, long while in a concentration camp.
Maybe the politicians are reluctant to implement such tough policies because they fear being among it’s victims?
Libertarians and anarcho-capitalists were reportedly satisfied with this victory of the free market.
