After endless months of being illegally held by Greek ZOG, the leader of the Golden Dawn will finally be let out of his cage.
At least three members of Greece’s neofascist Golden Dawn party, including leader Nikos Michaloliakos, are set to be released from custody ahead of their trial on charges of forming a criminal organization, Kathimerini understands.
A date for the trial has not been set but according to judicial sources it is expected to begin after Easter on April 12, which is after the maximum 18-month predetention period expires for most GD members in pretrial custody on March 27. These include Michaloliakos and senior deputies Christos Pappas and Yiannis Lagos.
Of the three, Michaloliakos and Pappas will remain under house arrest as they face additional weapons possession charges.
MPs Ilias Kasidiaris, Nikos Michos and Giorgos Germenis will remain in prison as they will be still within the 18-month limit.
Giorgos Roupakias, charged with the murder of leftist rapper Pavlos Fyssas in September 2013, is also expected to be released from custody during the course of his trial.
That last bit about Roupakias being released is particularly interesting. He has been charged with murder, and it isn’t typical to release someone charged with murder ahead of trial. This implies that they may only eventually charge him with manslaughter, or he may be proven to have been acting in self-defense.
That would really make the entire system look ridiculous, since it was the killing of Fyssas which led to the entire crackdown situation.
