Investigators have arrested four suspects after a man and a dog were killed and another man shot during a home burglary in Summerville.
Summerville police arrested 22-year-old Polo Keoki Salazar, 21-year-old Muanah Aruna Fortune Jr., 20-year-old Elijah Quinlin Green and 25-year-old Devonte Trevon Major. All were denied bond Monday afternoon.
Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said 47-year-old Joe Brown Weaver IV of Summerville died in the incident.
At 12:03 a.m. on Monday, police received a 911 call about a shooting in the 100 block of Myrtle Place (Robynwyn).
Court records state that the suspects gained entry through the back door of the home, and that a dog was shot as soon as the suspects got inside. The dog died shortly after.
An affidavit states that as the suspects were ransacking the house, the victim was shot multiple times in the chest which resulted in his death.
A neighbor called 911 and told emergency dispatchers that two people and a dog were shot by four people who had just fled the scene.

The four suspects, all from Beaufort County, face charges of murder, attempted murder, possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary first-degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, armed robbery, and ill treatment of animals in general, torture.
