France: Church Attacker Told Family He was Going to do It

Two relatives of one of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on 26 July 2016 in a church in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray spoke to RTL.

According to them, the man had already clearly threatened to attack a place of worship like this.

“I’m not astonished, he spoke about it to me all the time…he spoke of Islam…that he was going to do things like that,” begins one of them. “On the Koran of Mecca, he told me: ‘I’m going to attack a church’. He told me that two months ago coming out of the mosque. On the life of my mother, I didn’t believe it.”
