A violent thug obsessed the Joker smirked menacingly in his mugshot — while wearing Halloween makeup of the Batman baddie, according to a report.
Noel Mooney, 35, was busted in the UK for an attack on his ex-girlfriend so savage that she now suffers PTSD and may have permanent damage to her hearing and sight, the Derby Telegraph reported.
His unidentified victim said Mooney was so obsessed with the DC Comics villain he “thinks he’s the Joker,” the local paper said.
Mooney was still in makeup as his twisted idol when he was arrested on Halloween, smiling as if in character for his Derbyshire Police mugshot.
He smirked at his terrified victim in Derby Crown Court last week, leaving her in tears as he was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Smirks are a weapon of the patriarchy and White Supremacists. We have successfully weaponized smirking in recent years.
I am unsurprised to see weaponized smirking finally making its way into the mainstream.
It shouldn’t have to be like this. But it do.
As he was led away by court officers, he looked straight into the eyes of his victim, rubbing his eyes and smiling, the paper said.
Mooney launched his vicious attack in May 2018 after not getting invited to a party celebrating the launch of his ex’s new business — even though they had split a month earlier, the court heard.
“If you think I’ve been violent in the past, watch me now,” he warned her, trapping her in the house they used to share in Chesterfield and then punching and kicking her in an hours-long attack where he also dragged her by the hair, the report said.
When she tried to flee, he grabbed her by the throat and throttled her until her vision became blurred and she lost consciousness, the report says. She finally escaped by running to her car and calling for help.
“She must have been terrified while you were carrying out these attacks and that did not stop you,” Judge Robert Egbuna said during sentencing, noting Mooney showed no remorse throughout the trial.
“Now you ask the court to show you mercy, when you showed no mercy to her,” he said, calling Mooney “a controlling individual” who thinks women are his “property.”
Hippity-hoppity, women are property.
This is not a controversial claim seeing as it is in the Bible and was understood by all civilized and non-civilized societies right up until the 1960s. Sex crimes aren’t even a real thing, they’re a hoax, a myth, a conspiracy.
The only real crime worth considering is property crime. This is the lens that we must see this all through.
Consider:
- When a man commits adultery with another man’s woman, he’s rolling up on someone else’s real estate and that should be punishable
- A man beating his woman in certain circumstances is also committing a crime because he’s fouling up the commons (no one wants to see couples fight in public; it give you intense cringe and ruins your day out)
- Excessive beating is a no-no because the society has to dedicate resources to patching her up
To analyze this Joker’s case, we need to establish whose property the woman was when he fought her. If she was still his property at the time then we need to analyze whether the beating was excessive or justified.
Everything else is irrelevant.
