Germany: Nationalist Politician Converts to Islam

So, here’s a thing which has happened.

RT:

A former top-tier member of Alternative for Germany’s regional branch – once a critic of Islam and “an engaged Christian” – is now a Muslim convert. He says it is a private issue.

The 48-year-old Arthur Wagner “resigned on January 11 from the state board on his own volition. Only afterwards was it known that he had converted to Islam,” his spokesperson confirmed to Reuters.

The news seems particularly surreal given the fact that Wagner said in July last year – a month before the 2017 general election – that Chancellor Angela Merkel had made “a giant mistake” to open Germany’s border to migrants from Muslim-majority countries, according to Tagesspiegel newspaper.

As the result of Merkel’s ‘open-door policy’, Germany “mutates into another country,” Wagner alleged at the time.

Now Wagner says the conversion has been a decision he took on his own, and refuses to explain what led him to become a Muslim.

“This is my private issue,” he briefly told Tagesspiegel.

Okay, so.

Before you form an opinion on this.

It actually is not especially weird.

A whole bunch of Nazis converted to Islam following the war. Basically every member of the traditionalist school ended up converting to Islam. If you don’t know what the traditionalist school is, look it up. You’ll pretty much agree with everything they say about every issue, probably.

Because here’s the thing: when you read the Koran, the question that comes to your mind is going to be: where’s the lie?

I mean, I’m serious: go read the book and show me the lie.

On pretty much every issue, they are correct in their perceptions, as they are documented in their texts.

So it is not especially hard to see why, when reading Islamic texts, that far-right individuals have historically converted to the religion.

Of course, these days it is a totally different matter. Because Islam is not an isolated intellectual ideal in a book, it is the ideology of an invading army of savage animals. As such, converting to Islam right now is much weirder than when the traditionalists were doing it in the middle of the last century.

But this having been said – and stay with me here, don’t get triggered, I’m just making an observation that is obvious if difficult – the current state of racial nationalism lacks a clear and comprehensive vision of man in the universe. Race alone does not a functional society make.

And here is the conundrum.

We have to formulate a vision of the future that makes social and spiritual sense if we want to succeed as a movement, otherwise you will have white men joining Islam.

Don’t be upset.

That is simply the reality.

We are not going to be able to base an entire social movement on “race alone,” anymore than you can base a quality of an individual life on “heartbeat alone.”

And that is what we as a movement need to begin to start confronting in a serious fashion.

We need an animating ideal vision of a future society. We need to define an image of man and the role of man in the universe. Because without that, race becomes merely aesthetic.

I am just putting this out there.

We have the facts in this movement. That is done. We have momentum. We have tens of millions of supporters.

But we need now to continue to shape this stone into something more clearly defined.

That is the challenge of the now.
